About	Joseph L. Prusan, longtime principal of Garden City High School, passed away on October 2, 2019. Born June 17, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA, he graduated from Central High School in 1946. He was a Korean War Vet and received a Purple Heart. Joseph was a Harvard University professor in the summers of 1960-64, and was a University of Chicago John Hay Fellowship recipient in 1964-65. He was a teaching fellow at Ohio State University in 1969-71. Joseph was principal of Garden City High School from 1972-1992. He was the beloved husband of Sabina; proud father of Eric (Rosemary) and Nina (Greg) and beloved grandfather of seven: Alexandra, Joseph, Jillian, David, Matthew, Michael and Ella. Services will be held at Park Funeral Home, 2175 Jericho Tpke., New Hyde Park on Sunday, October 6 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Metropolitan Jewish Hospice would be appreciated.
