| About Me | I have worked for the Federal Government for almost 40 years. I will retire next year!!! I lead a pretty normal life until 2006 when our oldest sone SSG Christopher Swanson was killed while on his third tour in Iraq. He died doing what he loved, and I know I will see him again. I am now a Gold Star Mother, and my husband, son, and I try to teach people what that it is, and what it means. I am very involved with the Gold Star Mothers of Maryland, as well as assisting at Ft. Meade with the Notifer and Assistance program. We want to make sure that the men and women going to inform someone of a death of a loved one, have the best information possible of what they will expect.
