About Charles Clayton “Corky” Christopher, 53, passed away on Thursday, October 3rd, 2013 at Prince William Hospital in Manassas, surrounded by his family. Mr. Christopher was born on February 7th, 1960 in Sumter, South Carolina, the youngestof three siblings and only son to Clayton and Doris Christopher. He was a graduate of Garfield High School in Woodbridge, Virginia. He was married to Susan L. Beazley on September 13th, 1986 at St. Paul United Methodist Church at Woodbridge, Virginia. Mr. Christopher was an owner of Criswood II Farm in Gainesville, Virginia where he has worked to keep his farm beautifully landscaped and taught horse riding lessons. He also contributed his time and talents at Criswood Farm in Manassas, Virginia. He was an experienced horse lesson teacher and trainer. He had a gift in relating to his students and boarders, and his passion for his work and horses was always present. Mr. Christopher enjoyed spending time with his family, taking long road trips, riding in his tractor,and going on summer vacations to Myrtle Beach. He loved to go boating on the weekends with his family, where he could enjoy eating crab legs and hush puppies, fish with his sons, and dock his boat at the sand bar at Lake Anna. He was appreciative of funny movies and had an unforgettable sense of humor. Mr. Christopher is survived by his wife, Susan L. Christopher; children John T. Cook IV (Heather), Karl J. Christopher (Allison), Clayton Christopher; father Clayton C. Christopher, sisters Carol Ervin and Connie Christopher; niece Robyn Ervin, nephew Bradley Ervin (Kendra), great-niece Allison Ervin; and his beloved dog Tucker, all of whom will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Newman Christopher. Visitation will be held on Saturday October 5th from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, Virginia. Memorial services for Mr. Christopher will be held at Gainesville United Methodist Church, at 13710 Milestone Court in Gainesville, Virginia Sunday October 6th at 1:30 pm. There will be a reception immediately following the service at Criswood II Farm, at 15603 Vint Hill Road in Gainesville, Virginia. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to theJuvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, in memory of Charles Christopher, 26 Broadway, New York, NY 10004, (800) 533-2873.
