Brandon Boehms

Army, 4 Years
Sgt. Brandon Boehms is on his second tour of duty. One in Iraq and one currently now in Afghanistan. Serving as a Infantry/Sniper. He has been stationed in Ft. Hood, TX and is now currently stationed at Ft. Campbell, KY with 4BCT 506th Infantry Regt.

Served 23 yrs retiring as a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer. 2 combat tours in Iraq, awarded the Bronze Star Medal. Technical skills include Signal Communications, Chief Telecommunications, Information Technology, light weapons specialist, radio support, hand to hand tactical combat training, dismounted short range patrol.

Joe Russell Downs Sr.
Class of 1944
Army, 20+ Years
Enlisted in 1944. Served in WWII, Pacific Theatre. Initially assigned to the 39th "Red Arrow" Infantry Division, then transferred to the 11th AIrborne Division. Graduated with the Class of 46' GHS. Served in Korea War with 25th Infantry Division. Received orders for Vietnam War in 1965 and chose to retire. With three small children at home, and two wars in his history, family was first priority. Retired in October 1965 as Sgt.Maj. After retirement, worked for the U. S. Postal Service in Talbott and Jefferson City, TN for 23 years. Passed away suddenly on his mail route January 12, 1989. Attended the 40th Class Reunion in 1986. Buried at the Hermitage in Old Hickory, TN.
