Shirley (Sheffield) Benitez
Class of 1961
In 1991 I received the McKnight Foundation Award . For my work as a volunteer while working in the Battered Women's movement and human service in my community.
This award is given to only 10 people in Minnesota each year.
Along with that award I also was reconized with the WCCO Good Neighbor Award.
My mother always said that you can make a difference in your community if you get involved.
I have been an active volunteer in the twin cities for the past 50 years.Have received National and local awards
