LAST CALL — OCTOBER 24, 2015 REUNION ACTIVITIES —
Message from Phil Sherman, Reunion Committee Chair
Dear Classmates:
This is the final reminder to sign up for your attendance at the Fremont High School Class of 1965 50th Reunion. Attendance now stands at a total of 179, with 106 going on the USS Potomac Cruise and 174 attending the Dinner Dance. The number for the Dinner Dance includes our special guests, Coach Leo Allamano and his wife, and the 5 members of our band, which includes Class of 1965 alumnus Bob Manning who is the band's drummer. Time is now growing short for us to have our final attendance list, and space is now limited to only 14 more people for the Potomac Cruise and 23 for the dinner. Because of these limitations and because we need a final count for the USS Potomac and for the Waterfront Hotel, we are requiring that all new registrations be received no later than September 5th, 2015. Also please keep in mind that the remaining spaces will be on a first come first served basis. We of the Reunion Committee wish to thank all who are currently registered for without you this reunion would not be possible.
There are a few special details to share with all who are attending. The time to arrive for the USS Potomac Cruise is 1:00 PM sharp and be sure to dress warm for the Cruise as it may be nippy in October when we are out on the Bay. If you wish to dress up more for the Dinner someone will have a place to change available for you at the Waterfront Hotel. The Cruise ends at 5:00 PM and we will meet for no host cocktails and dinner at 6:30 PM at the Waterfront Hotel. There is an Oakland City Parking lot within a block of both the USS Potomac and the Waterfront Hotel, and the two events are one block from each other. We will send out final instructions to those attending once we have our complete list of attendance.
While the Committee will be working hard, we will need some volunteers to act as ushers and event ticket givers and to handle decorations and other details. We will also need someone with a van, truck, or SUV to meet with Phil Sherman to assist in purchasing snacks and beverages for the USS Potomac tour.
