Sterling "Stu" Bales, 66 years, of Fremont, Nebraska, died Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Stu was born November 19, 1946, in Fremont, NE, to James and Loma (Moss) Bales. Stu graduated high school at Fremont High School in 1965, and resided in Fremont most of his life. He was an avid Husker fan. He is survived by his special friend, Patti O' Brien of Fremont, NE; sons, Shay Bales of Council Bluffs, IA, and Brit Bales of Boise, Idaho; daughters, Shelly and husband Matt Buddenhagen of Omaha, NE, and Brienne Dollar of Boise, Idaho; father, James Bales of Fremont, NE; sisters, Linda and husband Ray Dunn of York, NE, and Kelly and husband Ed Brohimer of Fremont, NE; grandchildren, Claire, Emma, and Grace Buddenhagen, Jilliyn Dollar, and Cameron Bales; aunts, uncles, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Loma Bales; son, Darrin Tourek. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, July 10th, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Rev. Michael Lincoln will officiate. Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in Fremont. Memorials are designated to the family.
