About Me	Life My parents moved to San Jose in the middle of my junior year so I commuted to Fremont for the rest of that year and then finished up at Willow Glen, but my roots were in Sunnyvale. I've spent most of my life in public health and computer science. The public health part was clinical (advisor to the State Dept) and the computer part is systems and networking so there was no overlap. I've traveled quite a bit around the world but I am still in the area and still keep in contact with friends going back to the 6th grade (two of which I hike with every Sunday). I was fortunate to work at PARC (Xerox, Palo Alto Research center) during the early days and I've been at Stanford University since 1985.
