About Me	My parents moved to San Jose in the middle of my junior year so I commuted to Fremont for the rest of that year and then finished up at Willow Glen, but my roots were in Sunnyvale. I've spent most of my life in public health and computer science. The public health part was clinical (advisor to the State Dept) and the computer part is systems and networking so there was no overlap. I've traveled quite a bit around the world but I am still in the area and still keep in contact with friends going back to the 6th grade (two of which I hike with every Sunday). I was fortunate to work at PARC (Xerox, Palo Alto Research center) during the early days and I've been at Stanford University since 1985. Classmates has been fun and I keep a yearbook in my office so I can match names with faces...as I age I get more nostalgic. Charlie Update: November 2018 Well I finally retired from Stanford University. I still have my Mountain View houses but will now spend most of my time at the ranch in Placerville, CA. Hopefully I'll plant a nice big garden this spring (I've been experimenting with the hot weather up there the past few years - haven't done so well with the vegetables).
