FHS 1926 Football Champions

I am trying to locate information about the Freeport High School football team that won the state championship in 1926.

My late father, John "Doc" Kammer, (also know as "Hans" when he was in Freeport) was the football team's trainer.

A friend of my father's is writing a book about him and wondered if my father had the nickname "Doc" while he was a trainer in Freeport.

My father may have been associated with the high school as a trainer (for baseball and basketball as well as football) from 1920 (possibly earlier) until around 1929.

Does anyone have any information about my father's association with the football team or any other FHS sports teams?
