Honored Military Alumni
Heath K.Q. Pickard
Class of 2006
Army, 2 Years
Heath Pickard attended Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Ft. Benning, Georgia. He completed his training for Infantryman and was stationed at Ft. Wainwright Alaska, where he met his wife, Sara, and they had one child together, Ethan. Soon after their child's birth, Heath deployed to Iraq on his 21st birthday with Bravo Company, 1st batallion, 5th Infantry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division. His unit replaces 2nd Stryker Combat Regiment, from Vilsek Germany, at FOB Warhorse, where, sadly, PFC Pickard had lost his life in a mortar attack on the 16th October 2008. He was posthumously promoted to Specialist, and a medical evacuation site in Iraq was named after him. He is survived by his wife, son, two brothers, grandmother, mother, many aunts & uncles, and many more cousins.
