Richard Perez
Class of 1982
Rich Perez is a well liked individual who has done a lot not only for himself but for FHS as he coached for 8 years leading FHS to it's first Baseball Championship as Asst Coach to Rick Campbell in 1988-89 season. Rich also volunteered during those 8 years getting paid nothing but never asking for a penny, as he did it for the kids. Perez was also the first Baseball player drafted in the 1982 Major League Supplemental Draft by the Cincinnati Reds, traded to the Houston Astros and ending his career with a run with the Baltimore Orioles, Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers for 10 years Perez roamed the Minor leagues and still assisted at Franklin.
As the years passed, Perez became the announcer for the Colorado Rockies TV in Denver, Announcer for the Harlem Globetrotters, The NBA summer Pro Leagues in Long Beach and Las Vegas and built the top sports show in the history of TV creating "The Best Damn Sports Show Period" on FOX. Rich has worked for Adelphia, ESPN, Fox Sports and the WB networks as sportscaster and host. Currently does the Pre game show for the University of Hawaii and a weekly radio show called Nationwide Sports that plays throughout the nation. Perez is also a manager currently at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, NV. and runs www.sincitypicks.com online. (read more on Rich there)
Rich has acted in many motion pictures including his biggest role in Pirates of the Carribean II and III playing a Pirate alongside Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom.
