About	Sgt.1st Class Kenneth Paul Lehman, 31, a Special Forces medical sergeant of Colorado Springs, Colo., died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at Fort Carson, Colo. He made the military his life and strived for excellence. Sgt. Lehman graduated in 1995 from Franklin High School and immediately entered basic training. During his training, he attended Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., (basic training); Fort Bragg, N.C., Fort Benning, Ga., where he graduated from Airborne School, and Fort Bliss, Texas, where he decided to become a Green Beret. He was transferred back to Fort Bragg, N.C., and continued his training, graduating Aug. 22, 2002. as a medic in the Special Forces. Sgt. Lehman was assigned to Charlie Company, 3rd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne). He was deployed to Iraq, Kosovo and Africa and received a letter of accommodation for saving lives as a medic in Iraq. He received the following awards during his service to his country: Army Commendation 2nd award; Army Achievement Award; Good Conduct Medal 2nd award; National Defense Service Medal; Kosovo Campaign Medal; Iraq Campaign Medal; Global War on Terrorism; Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development; Ribbon 2nd award; Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon; North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Medal; Special Forces Tab; Combat Medic Badge; Free Fall Parachute Badge; Airborne Parachutist Badge; and Canadian Parachute Wings. Sgt. Lehman enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, helping friends and his faithful dog, Lady.
