| About Me | Enlisted in the Air Force in 1964 to avoid the draft. Became an Air Traffic Controller. Got married in 1965 Two daughters - 1966 & 1967 Served a year in Thailand (beautiful country & people) 1970-1971 to support the Vietnam conflict. Returned to Dyess AFB in Abilene, Texas. Air Force sent me to the University of Missouri, Columbia, Mo. to get a degree in Civil Engineering in 1973. Graduated in December 1975 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering & was commissioned a 2Lt in the Air Force April 1976. One of my last assignments was to Fairbanks, Alaska just before & I was reassigned to my final assignment at Kelly AFB in San Antonio, Tx in 1981. I retired from the Air Force after 21 years 6 months of service in 1986. I've been here in San Antonio since 1981. After retirement I took a job with Raytheon Corp. in Saudi Arabia as a civilian from 1989 to 1993. When I returned to the states the only job offer I got was with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, so I took it & retired from the Corps in May 2009. They hired me back in June 2009 because of the shortage of experienced people to support the Billions of $'s of construction going on here in San Antonio.
