Carol Jones Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by English Funeral Chapel - Coeur d'Alene on Dec. 20, 2023.
On the morning of December 18th, 2023, Carol A. Jones, 72, of Coeur d' Alene received her Angel Wings while in the loving care of Hospice House of North Idaho.

Carol fought her battle of cancer with courage and bravery. She was a warrior with everything she had faced.

Carol Ann Jones was born on August 25th, 1951, in King County, Seattle, (Tukwila) Washington to Alice W. Frey ((Wesselius) and Walter F. Frey. She graduated from Foster High School in 1969 and attended Highline Community College.

Growing up, she was gifted with a lovely singing voice and very talented at playing the piano and the clarinet.

On May 27, 1972, at Foster-Tukwila Presbyterian Church, she married Donald (Mick)W. Jones. They moved to Coeur d’ Alene shortly thereafter. Carol and Don (Mick) shared 11 years together before they amiably divorced.

Carol's first job was with Clair Pendar in Post Falls, Idaho for several years. Her second and final job was with Grannis Petroleum in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. She was with them for an amazing 42 years before retiring. She thoroughly enjoyed working with the Grannis family all those years. Challenges and laughter and of course, the office cat.

With her musical abilities, she played with the NIC Music Department for many years. Friendships were formed and maintained through the years. She was the type of person that you wanted to be in your life. Carol had a gentle soul, soft spoken, intelligent, pretty and had a great sense of humor. Book stores, old shops, antiques, plays, music, they all held her interest. But, you could always find her watching Gonzaga Basketball, she was an avid fan!

With a lifelong love of animals, she made a point to adopt her cats through the Companions Animal Center (aka Kootenai Humane Society) and sometimes, a cat would find her and adopt her. She lovingly gave them a home.
Carol is preceded in death by her mother Alice W. Frey (Wesselius) 1994 and her father Walter F. Frey 1980. Her grandparents Vonnie (Kroll) and Jacob W. Wesselius and Emma M. Fellmuth and Charles F. Frey. Her furry kids: Tikitu, Buddy and Patches.

Carol is survived by her loving cousins Barbara, Linda, Diane, Tamra, Dale, Ken, Tom, Wayne and Randy and their families. Her beautiful cat Gracie. Dear friends who loved her for many years with many smiles, laughter and tears, Dona, Sue, Jenny, Deb, and Toni. Kind and thoughtful neighbors, and many more friends too numerous to mention.

At her request no service will be held. If you wish to do so, please make a donation in her honor to Companions Animal Center, NIC Music Department, Hayden Lake library or a local Charity of your choice.
