| About Me | I'm a writer and author of fiction and nonfiction for adults and children. I am a multiple award winning author. The first book of my scifi/fantasy series, The Stone's Blade, The Blood, published in 2014, received Third Place in Science Fiction and Fantasy categories in the 2016 EVVY Awards for independently published books. The second book, The Balance, published in 2016, received Second Place in Science Fiction category in the 2017 EVVY Awards. Both books are available through Amazon.com. Be sure to click on the "Look Inside" feature to read the opening chapters. The third book of the series, The Blades, was published in November, 2019. The fourth book of this quartet, The Seventh Stone, was published Dec 2022. As of June 2025 the first two books will be available in audio versions with books 3 & 4 following sequentially thereafter. Hopefully all four will be in audio format by the end of 2025. They are available on Audible, AMPlify Audiobooks.com (discounts available if purchased through AMPlify), Author Republic, and through a multiple of library borrowing systems including but not limited to Libby, Libro, etc. I am currently working on several different projects - three children's books (need an illustrator!!), and two fantasies. Check my author page on Amazon to see all four books of the series. I have square danced since before I was born and plan to keep dancing well into my 90's. My husband, Bob, and I run a very active dance based entertainment business with an average of 5+ events each week. As members of CALLERLAB, Bob is the Chair of the Committee for Traditional and Community Dance, serves on the Board of Governors and spent five years on the Executive Committee. I serve as the Chair of the Partners' Committee and am a member of the Marketing Committee. We are also members of ROUNDALAB, The Lloyd Shaw Foundation (I am currently the editor of their quarterly publication from 2025 to present), The Denver Area Callers & Cuers Association, The New Mexico Callers Association, and the South Dakota Callers & Cuers Association. I am a member of the Colorado Independent Publishers Association, Colorado Author League, and The Bighorn Book Club. Elk and deer hunting are an extended family activity and is participated in every fall. Quilting keeps my blood pressure down. Reading and dancing are mandatory weekly activities and I believe the whole world would be better if we all participated in both. In July 2022 my big brother, Scott Boyd, passed away unexpectedly, leaving a huge hole in our family. March of 2023 my father, 96, was placed in in home hospice and I was diagnosed with breast cancer. My father passed away in May 2023 and I finished chemo in August and radiation in November. I am doing very well and appreciate the massive outpouring of support from friends and family - especially my husband, daughters, and remaining two siblings - RaeMarie Pericharos and Woody Boyd and my sister-in-law, Laura. I'm slowly getting back to my beloved writing by focusing on one of two fantasies, tentatively titled "Spider Rider". Look for it in a couple of years (2025 hopefully).
