About Me	After graduating from the Air Force Academy in '76, the Air Force sent me to pilot training near Phoenix and then to Grand Forks, ND where I flew the KC-135 refueling tanker from '78-'81. In '81 I transferred to Travis AFB, near San Francisco, and then left the Air Force in late '82. In early '83 I was hired as a pilot by USAir where over the next 36+ years I flew the DC-9, MD-80, and Airbus 320 series, and spent the last 5 years as an instructor pilot. In those 36+ years we endured 5 mergers, 2 bankruptcies and the liquidation of our pension fund, but overall it was a wonderful career which I feel thankful to have had. In both my Air Force and airline days, I worked with some of the most talented and dedicated people in the world. I met my wife, Robin, while at the AF Academy and we were married in '78. We've lived in N. Dakota, California, New Hampshire, the Milwaukee suburb of Bayside, and since 1996, Charlotte, NC. Our two sons were born in Milwaukee (and are still Brewers and Packers fans).
