Barrett Astin, a former professional baseball player, was born on October 22, 1991, in Forrest City, Arkansas. He is a notable alumnus of Forrest City High School in Forrest City, AR. He had an illustrious baseball career starting right from his high school days, playing college baseball for the University of Arkansas.

In his early career, Astin played collegiate summer baseball with the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League in 2011 and 2012. His professional journey began when he was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the third round of the 2013 Major League Baseball Draft. He spent his first professional season with the Helena Brewers, recording a noteworthy record of 1-1 with a 4.30 earned run average (ERA) in 37.2 innings pitched.

Later in his career, Barrett was traded to the Cincinnati Reds on September 10, 2014. His time with the Reds saw him being moved back and forth between Cincinnati and Louisville multiple times during April and May 2017. He eventually compiled a 6.75 ERA in eight innings for the Reds.

Towards the end of his career, Astin pivoted to independent baseball, signing with the Kansas City T-Bones of the American Association in May 2018, before his eventual release in March the following year.

Despite the challenges and constant movement, Astin demonstrated resilience and dedication, making him a remarkable figure in the baseball world and a source of pride for Forrest City High School.
