Air Force, 20+ Years
Chief Master Sergeant Milton D. Bryant entered the Air Force in August of 1978. After completing Basic Training, Chief attended Technical School at Lowery AFB, Colorado and graduated in October of 1978 as a Supply Apprentice. His first duty assignment was the 97th Supply Squadron at Blytheville AFB, Arkansas, later renamed Eaker AFB. He held several positions at Eaker including Repair Cycle Technician, Demand Processing Technician, Requirements NCO and finally as a MICAP NCO. After being reassigned to the 314th Supply Squadron at Little Rock AFB, Arkansas in September of 1982, he worked as a Requisitioning Technician, NCOIC of Requirements and later as NCOIC of Document Control. Not being able to stay in one place too long, Chief was on the move again, this time to the 7394th Munitions Squadron at Erhac Air Base, Turkey in 1985 as NCOIC of Supply. Upon returning to the states in 1986 Chief was assigned to the 375th Supply Squadron at Scott AFB, IL as the NCOIC of Inventory. After a short time in inventory, he worked as the NCOIC of Individual Equipment. He was reassigned to Headquarters Military Airlift Command now known as Air Mobility Command in August of 1987. While at Headquarters Chief served as NCOIC of Instructional Development for the command’s supply personnel. After two years in this position Chief moved on to become a C-130 Equipment Manager. Chief was on the move again in 1991 to Rhein Main Air Base, Germany. Upon assignment to the 435th Supply Squadron, Chief served as NCOIC of Equipment Management, Superintendent of Stock Control and Superintendent of Material Management Flight. While at Rhein Main he was selected as Supply Superintendent of the Year in 1993. Upon leaving Germany Chief landed at the 95th Supply Squadron, Edwards Air Force Base, CA in 1994. While at Edwards, he worked as both Superintendent of Material Storage and Distribution Flight and Chief Hazardous Materials Management Flight. He was also selected as Supply Superintendent of the Year in 1995. After departing Edwards in 1996 Chief joined the 374th Supply Squadron at Yokota Air Base, Japan. Chief held the position of Superintendent of Combat Orientated Supply Operations, Chief Combat Operation Support Flight and Chief Management and Systems Flight while at Yokota. He was selected as Pacific Air Forces Supply Superintendent of the year in 1998. Departing Yokota in 2000, he embarked on a second tour at the 314th Supply Squadron at Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas, serving as the Chief Management and Systems Flight and later Superintendent Vehicle Management Flight. Chief Bryant developed the wing’s first ever 4-day NCO Professional Development Course to “re-blue” and education personnel on Air Force standards. In 2002, Chief arrived at his present duty station, Barksdale AFB. He is married to the former Gertrude Bowie of Malden Missouri.
