Favorite School Memory | Football & basketball games. Our '69 cheerleaders were the best ever!! Another memory-- cruising the streets to & from work with Karen Little & listening to her "eight track" tapes. Carolyn Pressley, hmmm, did our parents ever find out how many times we skipped school? Glenda Plyler, wanna do a pajama party? Hi Pam Sanders--Are you a pro basketball player now? Wanda Mason--I was always so excited to get to spend the night with, because I had a chance to ride the bus for a longer time. Yeah, that was an exciting time back then. Mary Rushing & Henry Parker (my closer neighbors)--great memories of our great times at our Union Baptist Church. and riding our bikes up to Henry's h...(read more) |
About Me | I worked for First Union/Wachovia/Wells Fargo for 33 years. I am presently on long term disability. I have a genetic disease called Chiari Malformation. Even though it's genetic (from birth) you do not realize until after diagnosis you were symptomatic all your life. Chiari People have a smaller opening at the base of the skull -- causing tremendous headaches, pressure from the cerebellum tonsils dropping down & crowding your spinal cavity--thus, cutting off the cerebral spinal fluid from the brain. I had decompression brain surgery in '05 & 4 other major surgeries since all relating to Chiari 1 Malformation. In '05 I was "code blue" when the nurse found me & in icu for 2 weeks before being stabilized. In '06 I was in cardiac arrest when the nurse just happened to hear me passing my room & then in icu heart unit for a week before being stabilized. Before that, I was nonstop. Russ, was the risk taker & has mostly been self employed while our girls were young. We lived in Charlotte & I worked in the First Union tower. Russ was in sales & won us 3 Carribean cruises. His brother & sister were Air Force retirees & lived in Vegas, so we got to go a few times. We began a carpet cleaning business & sold it in '06. Russ is semi-retired & I am on total disability. I had to have my 2nd decompression brain surgery in January 2012, the surgery lasting 6 hrs. God has blessed us with our 2 daughters & 6 grandchildren & 1 great grandchild. When our granddaughter, Alexis was 10 Russ took her to Carolina Talent Agency in Charlotte. At the AMTC event in Fl, Alexis interviewed with a NY agent & had a job in NY that summer. Alexis is now a junior in high school & will be 17 yrs. old May 6th. Her little brother, Garrett, will be 12 yrs. old April 10th & both are looking forward to getting their braces off soon. Our other 3 grandsons are now 1, 7 & 9. They live in SC & we don't get to see them as often. Russ & I have been married 43 years & our 44th anniversary will be May 2nd. Life is good!
