Norman is the son of Ali & Sally Hammoud. He had five brothers. Norman was a two year, two way starter for the FHS Football team, and was voted most valuable player by his teammates during his senior season. The Fordson class of 1990 lost only three football games in their high school years. the team established a 24-3 regular season record.

Norman said," My teammates were very special. We hung together when winning was almost impossible." The one person Hammoud credited the most for their success was head coach, Charlie Justice. Norman attended Bowling Green University on a football scholarship. Norman fought leukemia for years before finally succumbing to it.
Norman was a 4th grade teacher at McDonald Elementary School in Dearborn.
