About	Fordson Alumni, Phil Leszczynski just emailed me with more sad news: Fred-FYI, Dennis Niemiec, Class of 1967 recently passed. DENNIS' OBITUARY Dennis Niemiec, Age 76 of Romulus, Michigan, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Dennis was born in 1949 and graduated from Michigan State University in 1971 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. He dedicated much of his career to serving the community through his work within the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department. Throughout his life, Dennis also embraced his entrepreneurial spirit, shared his love of sports as a golf coach, and spent many years umpiring within the MHSAA. He was especially proud to have coached his sons’ baseball and hockey teams throughout their younger years, passing along not only his knowledge of the game but his love of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. Dennis will be remembered for his humor, warmth, and his skill of telling extremely long stories. He found joy in watching sports with loved ones, enjoying a good day on the golf course, and taking his signature “couple of puffs”. He leaves behind his beloved wife Carol Niemiec (nee: Delaney); his children Jeff (Tammy) Niemiec, Jeremy (Barbara) Niemiec, and Sarah (Gary Collins) Niemiec; his cherished grandchildren Jacob (Karina), Sydney, Maddison, Jessica, Evan, Paxton, and Georgia. He was also a proud uncle, great- uncle, cousin, and loyal friend to many. Memorial Visitation: Saturday, November 8th, 1 pm - 8 pm with a 6 pm Memorial Service at the John N.
