Niewola, Sharon. August 9, 2017. Age 67 of Dearborn Heights. Beloved daughter of the late John and Helen Niewola. Sharon was an avid gardener and loved knitting. She will be deeply missed by family and friends. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to the Dearborn Chapel of Voran Funeral Home, 23701 Ford Road. (313) 278-5100 . A memorial service will be held on Friday August 25, 2017 10:00 a.m. at Divine Child Catholic Church. Donations may be made to Capuchin Soup Kitchen.

To Sharon's family,
Sharon and I were good friends in high school, but lost touch throughout much of our lives, however, we did touch base via phone every few years. Just today I heard of her passing and am shocked!

I picked her up for one of our high school reunions and we promised to get together more often. Now our 50th reunion is coming up and I will miss her.

We had lots of fun swimming, skating and going to dances at OLG in the late 60s. If Sharon didn't know what to wear to the dance, she would whip something up on her sewing machine at the last minute.

Sharon and I even took the train out to Los Angeles in 1970 for a fun-filled week of sightseeing.

In her later years, Sharon often spoke of her cousins, and of course I will never forget her mom who was our chaperone for a week at Camp Dearborn during the summer of 1967.
