About	RICHARD STAPNOWSKI Obituary ANN ARBOR Richard (Dick) Peter Stapnowski, born November 26, 1935, to Frank Stapnowski and Margaret (Kaniewski) Stapnowski, passed away at the age of 87 on December 27, 2022 peacefully at his home of 50 years. Dick grew up in Detroit MI and graduated in 1953. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served his country from 1954-1958. He graduated from Eastern Michigan University receiving his Masters Degree in English. He began student teaching in the Dearborn School System in 1963 and went on to be an English Teacher before switching to become a full time Counselor at Maples Junior High in Dearborn, Mi. He retired from teaching in the Dearborn Schools area in 2000 Dick married Malvina (Huard) Stapnowski on Julv 2nd 1960 and was married for 54 vears before losing her to cancer. Their favorite pastime was golfing which they enjoyed with family and friends. He also enjoyed playing softball, bowling, drawing and painting. Dick and Mal raised 4 children, Keith (Julie) Stapnowski, Denise (Jeff) Barnes, Todd (Tracy) Stapnowski and Wendy (Blair) Ferris. He also left behind 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He is survived by his loving Step brother Tom (Jimmie) Padly.
