About	Our beautiful mother, Karen Courtney, affectionately known as “Nana K,” went to be with her Lord peacefully at the age of 70 on May 12th, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on January 2nd, 1955 to Kenneth and Rose Deitte. Karen graduated from Goodrich High School in 1973. On May 27, 1978 she married her dear husband, Scott Courtney. Together they shared a pure love for each other. They were blessed with four loving children, whom they cherished. Born in Fond du Lac, WI, Karen was a devoted wife and mother, beloved grandmother and cherished sister, aunt and friend. Her strength, kindness and unwavering love left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She faced life’s challenges with grace and dignity, and her bravery throughout her illness was nothing short of inspiring. Her faith was the foundation of her life and a guiding light for all who knew her. Family was the center of her world. She was a proud and devoted mom and an adoring nana to Scottie, Jaxon and Callum. They were the light of her life. Her warmth, laughter and endless generosity created a home filled with love, comfort and unforgettable memories. Karen is survived by her children, Sean Courtney, Bryan Courtney, Erin (Matt) Boelhower, Sarah (Steve) Courtney-Cieslak, her grandchildren, Scottie, Jaxon, and Callum, her siblings, Mike and Susie Leonard, Linda Sklena, Mike and Rita Shannon, Tom and Cathy Deitte, Richard and Katy Deitte, Tim and Annie Koll and Gary and DeAnna Deitte. She is preceded in death by her husband, Scott Courtney, her parents, Kenneth and Rose Deitte, her father and mother-in-law, Harold and Virginia Courtney, brother, Mark Deitte and brother-in-law, Mike Sklena. Visitation: Family will receive relatives and friends Tuesday, May 20, 2025 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division Street in Fond du Lac. Visitation will also be Wednesday, May 21, 2025 from 10:00am to 10:45am at Holy Family Church, 271 Fourth Street Way in Fond du Lac. Services: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 11:00am at Holy Family Catholic Church. Karen will be laid to rest next to her husband, Scott, in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Karen’s name. The family would like to express thanks to all of Karen’s doctors, nurses and caregivers over the years.
