Jerry Lennop, a star athlete whose natural talent and leadership set him apart. Born with a competitive spirit and a drive to excel, Jerry quickly rose to the top in his sport in baseball and football. He was admired not only for his athletic ability, but also for his ability to inspire those around him. Teammates looked to him for guidance, and classmates celebrated his humility and determination.

Yet, despite his promise, Jerry’s career was shaped by circumstances beyond his control. Overlooked and ignored by the very coaching staff he had trusted, Jerry carried a deep hurt that altered the course of his life. Though he never fully recovered from that difficult chapter, those who knew him best remember his resilience, his kindness, and the way he never stopped caring for others.

Jerry’s story is one of talent, perseverance, and quiet struggle. He will be remembered not just for the athlete he was, but for the person he remained: loyal, generous, and deeply human.

Jerry’s ashes were scattered on Fruth Field in Fond du Lac - the place he loved most, and where his spirit will always remain.

Gerry was a great friend and once hard working employee. He was an amazing half back for Fond du Lac's Goodrich High-school 1974 Championship team, "we called him Waterbug, because of his open field running with the ability to leave defenders in the dust". Gerry was an excellent Chef in his early career. He loved his 1960's era bright red Ford Mustang. Gerry is greatly missed by his high school friends and former teammates! So sorry to learn of his life struggles and pray he is resting in peace and his family is doing well in life.
