About Eugene Edmund Halter, a kind, gentle, and caring soul, entered Eternal Life on November 17, 2023. He was born to his parents, Martha and Edmund Halter on March 29, 1954 in Fond du Lac, WI.
Eugene always displayed a positive attitude with a great big smile and a twinkle in his eyes. Eugene enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, and taking long walks in his younger years. He loved to listen to baseball games on the radio and prayed the rosary daily. He was always ready to help family members. His one great pleasure in life was to enjoy a good cup of coffee!
Eugene was very proud of receiving his Associate Degree in small engines from Moraine Park Technical School.
Eugene was preceded in death by his lovng parents Edmund and Martha Halter and brothers-in-law Curtis Justman and John Juknialis. He is survived by his sisters Rosella Justman, Mary (Thomas) Olsen, Helen (Terry) Zuehlke, Marty (Norm) Ruhland, Barb Halter, Lilly Halter and his brothers Joe (Deb) Halter, Patrick (Karen) Halter and Frank (JoAnne) Balthazor. Eugene also has many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the Wound Care Clinic for taking care of Eugene for several years. The nurses were always so kind and patient with him.
Eugene’s family invites relatives and friends to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 200 S. Peters Ave., Fond du Lac on Friday, November 24, 2023 for a time of visitation at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., Father Joseph Juknialis officiating. Eugene will be laid to rest private in St. Charles Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Eugene’s family asks that you consider a memorial donation to the St. Katherine Drexel Homeless Shelter.
