As an FCHS Alumnus I feel this one is obvious. I would not be surprised if I am not the first to do so. Coach Beale has always represented FCHS well. As a student he was a staple of the football and track and field teams. He is still listed among the record holders for Track and Field at American University. In the five years I sat in his classes and participated on the teams he has coached he has never mentioned his past successes.
His greatest achievements have been in returning to FCHS as a faculty member. Instead of being a coach who teaches; he is a teacher who coaches. Before he became head football coach at FCHS in 1982 the best record posted by a Buffaloe team was 5-5. Since than he has built the program into a perenial playoff contender and has gone on to four state title games. In trach and field he has coached numerous state champions. IN the classroom and on the fields he treats all students the same.
