| About Me | I was born and raised in Kalispell, Montana. Grew up raising horses, rabbits, chickens, turkeys, sheep, ducks, peacocks,... Was raised by conservative, Christian parents to know traditional family values, strong work ethic, and an appreciation for our country and the freedom we are afforded. In the mountains of Montana, we enjoyed fishing, camping, rafting, and many other outdoor activities. In high school, I was active in FFA, 4-H, track and volleyball, public speaking, and honor society. My dad is a retired teacher, a profession I admired and took as my own one day. Mom stayed at home with us kids, my two sisters and I. As I am a stay-at-home mom now, I better appreciate the sacrifices she made to be at home with us. I attended college at Montana State University, with a one-semester exchange to Oklahoma State University. In college, I was involved in Collegiate FFA, Collegiate 4-H, Campus Crusade for Christ, Mortar Board, Alpha Zeta, Alpha Gamma Rho Rhomates, and student senate. During a summer internship with a pesticide company, I met my future husband, Brian, in Texas. We married in June, 2000. Brian was established in his job in Dallas, Texas, where we made our home. This was and will always be quite an adjustment to move away from my home and my family, who for many generations, has lived and stayed in Kalispell. I took a middle school science teaching position in a suburb of Dallas and Fort Worth and taught for five years. In 2004, Brian and I welcomed our first baby, Jacob. A little over a year later, we found out we were pregnant with baby number two, Abbie. Before Abbie was born, Brian took a job transfer to Richmond, VA, a huge leap of faith for us.
