About Me | As for me, lets see. After graduation headed off to Chicago for flight school. Did that for about 2 years, got the license & did a little instructing. Hit college cause that's what u need to fly in the majors. Liked college & history so much I dropped the flying (it's not cheap & was only doing it to make pops happy). Did 2 years at a local community college and then to a liberal arts college for another 2. Actually finished in 4 years with a 3.49 & BA in History w/ Secondary Ed teaching license...take that Fitch! I'm sure many of our old teachers would crap knowing I can mold little minds...heh heh. Let's see, around '93 met a local girl, got engaged & started subbing in the local suburban high schools & waited tables at night...great 5 years. Then got married to said girl and had to take a real teaching job. Taught at a Chicago Catholic School in a nice Italian neighborhood for 3 years teaching 5th graders. Great gig but pay sucked. Then I switched to public school...Chicago style. Decent pay but I worked on the South Side and West Side of the city teaching 8th graders. Yes, it is as bad as they say. Got burnt out after 3 years and took a job with Genworth Financial in the burbs working as a recruiter head hunting financial planners/brokers. 4 years later I'm still at that company (love it) and actually a securities trader. I answer financial questions, place trades, process paperwork & sometimes make a difference. Been married to the same beautiful gal for 10 years. We just built a house in the far west suburbs of Chicago. Have 2 dogs and making advances on the baby front. I love working out, mountain biking, video games, tv, movies and all things 80's. My parents still live in Mystic (now on Cowhill Road). I get back once or twice a year. Always get a greasy Mystic Pizza (I do like Chicago deep dish though) and a Resses' Pieces Sunday when I return. I only stay in touch with Michael Spellmen. He and I are still very close. I am currently working with Julie Goodwin...(read more) |
