About Me	I married a year after graduating HS, had a child 11 months later, divorced two years later, started college and graduated UCONN with a BA in history. Went to work for Project Oceanology, was there for 13 years before moving to the island of Vinalhaven, 15 miles off the mid-coast of Maine, to homestead. Here I have created a niche for myself: I create, plant, tend, harvest, put to bed beautiful vegetable gardens for other people. Also, I have created a very popular Community Supported Agriculture Program at my little 2-acre place I call Peaceful Harbor Farm. I have a 14'x48' greenhouse for starting seedlings and for growing heat loving veggies throughout the season. I teach an "Establishing A Successful Summer Vegetable Garden" class for Adult Ed at our wonderful school here. I bought a tiny, gutted, story and a half stone-quarry workers house, heated only with wood, and I wired the entire house myself, from attic to cellar - the thing I am most proud of! I haven't gotten any taller, in fact I am shrinking, I'm now under 4'11"! In the winter I cook for Meals on Wheels, and type The Wind, our little weekly, free, town newspaper; also I work in the woods in the winter, but hope to spend more time creating baskets and glass stained projects rather than the unbelieveably hard labor of winter woods wor...(read more)
