| About Me | It's 2014, cold again and winter is definitely here... Classes are continuing. Check out the website. . . www.mtmdji.com In spite of many trials and tribulations as a young teen, DJ LisaLove dreamt of greater things. After spending the first years of her life in Philadelphia LisaLove moved to Loch Sheldrake, New York. There she shined as a member of the Fallsburg High School girl’s basketball team, leading them to a sectional play-off. Though recruited by many, LisaLove accepted a full basketball scholarship to Clarion University of Pennsylvania. With excellence on as well as off the court she graduated with a BA in Sociology/Psychology. Once graduated LisaLove worked as a Social Worker, Basketball Coach and as a Recreation Specialist for the Department of Justice, the position she maintains today, where she became certified in Physical Fitness and Nutrition. During the search for a career path that would allow her to help others, LisaLove never abandoned her love of music. DJ’ing part-time since college, she was ready to take her skills to the next level. In 2000 LisaLove moved back to Philadelphia where she took a course in music production in pursuit of DJ’ing professionally; soon after she was hired as a sound technician for the former Brave New World Nightclub which hosted a weekly event (House of Soul) by Come Kleen Productions. As fate would have it LisaLove was given the chance to shine when Come Kleen’s CEO John Barber took a chance and put her on the “wheels” when his regular DJ failed to show. Needless to say, he was impressed with her skills. Neither one has looked back since. That was ten years ago. Since then DJ LisaLove has opened for celebrities and recording artists like LL Cool J, Jadakiss, Faith Evans, Cedric the Entertainer and many others. She was the first female DJ in Philadelphia on a major radio station (Power 99 FM),”spinnin” for Tiffany Bacon and Golden Girl. She shot a cameo for the film Scene Not Heard and has appeared in several publications touting her prowess as a DJ. Currently LisaLove owns and operates the More Than Music DJ Institute. Founded in 2007, LisaLove instructs individual and group classes of “everyday people” who want to learn. Her students are also afforded several workshops a year with guest DJ’s like Touch Tone, Jay Ski, Kam, Miz, Cash Money, Tat Money and Supreme ensuring thorough instruction on all aspects of her craft. With perseverance, determination and an unquestionable passion for music DJ LisaLove has provided outreach to many; trailblazing a path for those who love the art of DJ’ing. Don’t believe me?
