Will Mejia

Soccer player for Greenville Triumph

What is Will Mejia known for?

William "Will" Mejia, an American soccer player, was born on November 15, 1996 in Falls Church, Virginia. Mejia was a three-sport athlete during his attendance at Falls Church High School, where he played basketball, football, and soccer. He emerged as a promising talent in soccer, earning multiple accolades such as a three-time, first-team all-conference selection, and a first-team all-region selection on two occasions.

Mejia's youth soccer career included a successful stint with the Arlington Strikers, a local soccer club. During his time with the club, the team made it to the State Cup Final Four four times, even clinching the title twice.

After high school, Mejia attended Virginia Tech where he continued his soccer journey. He redshirted his freshman season in 2015 but subsequently made a significant influence on the field. Mejia appeared 65 times for the Hokies, scoring once. In 2016, he was recognized as part of the Top Drawer Soccer Best Freshman XI First Team.

Despite a brief tenure with the Northern Virginia United in 2018 and 2019, Mejia didn't make an appearance for the club. However, his career trajectory took an exciting turn in April 2021 when he signed with the Greenville Triumph, a team that competes in the USL League One. He made his professional debut as an 86th-minute substitute during a 3–0 win over the New England Revolution II on July 4, 2021.
