| About Me | Moved to the Tahoe/Truckee area to work at a ski resort for ONE year -- 40 years later, I'm still in the Tahoe/Truckee area. Worked at Northstar California Ski Resort for 36 years in ticketing department, during which I got married and had my daughter (at 42 !!!! GOOOOO mama !!). Later, I switched careers, working part-time at N* and full time as an Aide with the school district. I finally retired from N*, but still working as a Special Ed. Aide at the middle school, this is my 19th year....MIGHT retire next year....we'll see. Can't beat working for the school district, work 6 months a year with FULL Benefits !! Been married for 30 years to Ray Avalos who is a retired Delta Airlines employee, so we have flying benefits and use them as much as possible. Our daughter is 25 and is getting married this June, and is opening up her own beauty salon soon in Truckee. She is also the Freshman VB Coach, along with being on staff with the Truckee Chapter of YoungLife Christian group. I have 3 step children, and 3 step grand-kids...(read more) |
