Michael James Tenney, 66, of Charlestown, NH, passed away on October 24, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer with his loving wife, Marie by his side, just the way he wanted it to be. He was born on February 26, 1957, in Bellows Falls, VT. A cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Michael's memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Michael was a big man with an even bigger heart. He was always the life of the party and would do anything for anyone. He was known as the biggest supporter of his children and grandchildren. He loved his wife, Marie Tenney, with all his heart, and they celebrated 45 years of marriage together. Michael often said, "Once you marry one Bashaw, you marry them all."

In addition to his wife, Michael is survived by his children: Jeremy Tenney, Allen Tenney, and Nicole Tenney (Christopher Mix). He was a loving brother to Edwin (Nancy) Tenney, Braton "Butch" (Diane) Tenney. Michael adored his grandchildren: Alex Tenney, Isaac Tenney, Caroline Lafayette, Ethan Lafayette, Natalie Mix, and Charlotte Mix. Michael's sisters-in-law Debbie (Kenny) Bemis, Peggy (John) Bascom, and Tammie Neilsen (Dale Youngman) were an integral part of his life. He considered his best friend, Mark Blair, as a brother and leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Bernice Tenney, his mother, Marlyne Tenney, his best friend and brother, Danny Joe Tenney, sister-in-law, Allena Martin, and brother-in-law, Larry Neilsen.

Michael graduated from Fall Mountain Regional High School in the class of '76. He began his career at Dartmouth Woolen Mill in Claremont, NH, and later worked at Pompanette/Bomar and Whelen Engineering, both in Charlestown, NH.

Outside of work, Michael had a variety of hobbies that brought him joy. He cherished spending time with his grandchildren, hanging out with the boys at Blair's Garage, and going to watch the Blair Outlaw Racing Teams. He was an avid NASCAR and sports fan and enjoyed going for long rides on back roads.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the calling hours at Charlestown Memorial Chapel in Charlestown on Friday, November 3, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. A celebration of Michael's remarkable life will be held at the VFW in Charlestown on Saturday, November 4, at 1:00 pm, offering an opportunity to reminisce and honor the legacy of a man who touched countless lives.
