Eric Burden
Class of 1998
Air Force, 6 Years

Eric attended Wallace State Community College in Hanceville, Alabama on an Allied Health (Sports Medicine) scholarship for one year before enlisting in the United States Air Force. After Basic Military Training (BMT), Eric received approximately one year of technical training in Texas and Mississippi. Whereas students normally have a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) to their first duty station, Eric had a Permanent Change of Assignment (PCA) from his training squadron to the 81st Training Support Squadron (TRSS) in Mississippi. Upon completion of his assignment to the 81st TRSS, he PCS'd to Florida. Eric was assigned to Florida for the remainder of his Air Force career with the exception of 3 month tour in Italy. Eric was medically discharged from the Air Force with an asthma diagnosis in 2005. Just six days after his discharge, he was picked up by a Fortune 500 company to support United States Central Command (USCENTCOM) efforts throughout the Middle East.
Kim Walker Clark
Kim Walker Clark
Class of 1998
Army, 8 Years

Joined after graduation in 1998. Went to Basic Training and AIT in Ft Leonard Wood, MO. Upon graduation, I transferred to Ft Riley, KS with the 937th Engineer Group. I PCS'd to Redstone Aresenal and was with the 100th DIV. I eventually moved to Des Moines, IA to be closer to my husbands family, and was assigned to the 1/383rd TSBN. My final mission in the Army was to be a LANES Trainer and an OC/T (Observer Controller/Trainer). I trained Motor Transport Operators and Ordanance personnel in preparation for deployment to Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. I did my best to make sure the soldiers knew how to react to all combat situations before sending them to war.
