About	Mass of Christian Burial for John A. Popely, age 74, will be 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2014 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 521 Plum Street, Fairport Harbor. Friends will be received at the Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday. A lifetime resident of Fairport Harbor, John was born on Jan. 26, 1940 in Ashtabula, to John and Anna (Molnar) Popely. Mr. Popely passed away on Feb. 15, 2014 at Grand Strand Regional Hospital in Myrtle Beach, S. C. He graduated from Fairport Harding High School, class of 1957. John was employed for the former Diamond-Shamrock Co. for 28 years and for 20 years as a Record Supervisor for the City of Mentor Police Dept. He was a member of St. Anthony Church where was active in Church Ministries, the Men's and Women's Renewal and Marriage Renewal Programs He also served on the Fairport Harbor School Board, Port Authority and was past Chairman of the Fairport Harbor Mardi Gras Parade Committee. John is survived by the love of his life for 52 years, Doris (Baroni) Popely; children,Deanna (Bob) Law, Kathy Lorenczi, Tammy (Steve) England, Beth (Adam) Mackey, John (Beth) Popely, and Joseph Popely; grandchildren, Erin (Josh) Manypenny, Michael and Robert Law, Kari (Dallas) Stewart, Krista (Daniel Braun) Lorenczi, Steven, John, Joshua, Bryan, and Austin England, Heather (Nick) Rexrode, Cody Mackey, Devin, Zachary, and Kaitlyn Popely; great-grandchildren, Dallas, Emma, Isaac, Mia, Baby Daniel, Peyton, and Landon; siblings,Anna Popely, Jim Popely, and Jerry Popely; many nieces and nephews and an abundance of friends also survive. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Fairport Harbor Food Bank, c/o St. Anthony of Padua Church, 316 Fifth Street, Fairport Harbor, OH 44077. We were blessed with a wonderful husband, father, papa, brother, and friend.
