About	Memorial services for Helen A. Lehtinen, age 78, of Daytona Beach, Fla., will be 1 p.m. Saturday, October 10, 2009, at Zion Lutheran Church, 508 Eagle St. Fairport Harbor 44077. Mrs. Lehtinen passed away Nov. 12, 2008, in Daytona Beach. Survivors are her husband, Richard; daughters, Janis and Beverly; sons-in-law, James Harbour and David Bruce; and granddaughters, Krista Harbour and Laura Bruce. Helen was born Oct. 3, 1930, in Fairport Harbor. She was a 1948 graduate of Fairport Harding High School and attended Ohio University. Mrs. Lehtinen worked in the Probate Court in Painesville. She became a certified court reporter. In 1966, due to Richard's work at Bendix Avionics, they moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Both Helen and Richard retired in 1991, and relocated to Daytona Beach. They were both active members and sang in the choirs of Hope Ridge Methodist Church in Mentor, and the same at Christ Methodist Church in Ft. Lauderdale, and in the Covenant Methodist Church in Port Orange, Fla. Helen and Richard spent many summers visiting relatives and friends in Lake and Ashtabula counties. In 2006, Helen and Richard bought a home in Fairport Harbor. They became actively involved with the Finnish Heritage Museum in Fairport Harbor. Since Helen's passing, Richard became a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Fairport Harbor. (This was their wish in 2008, and it came to pass in 2009 â€” home at last!). The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Finnish Heritage Museum in Helen's name.
