About	Health, Phys. Ed. Boys Track and Field Coach Kritzer, Robert J. age 88 of Kettering passed away on November 8, 2016. He was born on November 13, 1927 in Emeigh, PA. Bob attended Penn State University on a football and track scholarship before transferring his freshman year to Michigan State Univ. where he played football and ran track. He as a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. Bob graduated with his BA degree in 1949 and earned his Master’s Degree in 1955. Before coming to Kettering, he coached football in PA, MI and Toledo, OH. During his 27 years tenure in Kettering City School system he coached track and cross-country. He retired in 1988. Bob was inducted into the Ohio High School Track and Cross Country Coaches Hall of Fame in 1988 and the Fairmont Athletic Hall of Fame in 2002. Bob dearly oved his wife Jean, and his sons Jack, Jim, Tim and Tom. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, and his sons Jack in 1975 and Jim in 2011. Bob is survived by his loving wife Jean; sons, Tim (Marianne) of Anderson, IN and Tom of Kettering. Visitation will be 5-8 on Tuesday Nov. 15, 2016 at Routsong Funeral Home on Stroop Rd in Kettering. Memorial contributions may be made to Aim of the Handicapped or a charity of your choice.

I ran on the track and cross-country teams for Coach Kritzer from 67-70. I remember him as being tough, but fair to those of us on his squads. He inspired me for my love of running which I still do competitively at the age of 71.
