About	(French and Latin) Dorothy Gibbs, a longtime Estes Park resident, died on July 21, 2025 at the age of 98. Dorothy was born in Chicago, Illinois to Ewing C. Scott and Dorothy Carnine Scott. She was a student of Colorado College, Colorado Springs (1945), Syracuse University, New York (1948) and earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from University of Virginia, Charlottesville (1964). Dorothy met her husband George Gibbs in Lynchburg, Virginia. After marriage Dorothy followed George to Japan where he was posted in the Army and Dorothy taught English to Japanese students. Returning to the U.S., Dorothy taught at Kettering Fairmont High School 1968-1990. She also sponsored the Jr. Classical League at Fairmont High School 1972-1990. Dorothy was a Latin teacher beloved by her students and all who knew her.
