About	Superintendent of Kettering Schools LUCAS, John T., age 77, of Centerville passed away Sunday, February 15, 2004 at The Franciscan at St. Leonard’s in Centerville. John was a member of Fairhaven Christian Missionary & Alliance Church. He received his bachelor’s degree and his master’s degree in school business administration from Ohio State University. John was a teacher at Van Buren Junior High, principle at Meadowlawn Elementary, Assistant Superintendent in charge of business of Kettering City Schools and then retired as Superintendent from the Kettering School System. After retiring, John was a consultant for Ohio State Education and a business agent for Fairhaven Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Elizabeth Lucas in October 2000. John is survived by his son, Mark Edward Lucas and wife, Kathleen of Dayton; daughter, Gayle Lucas of Minneapolis, MN; six grandchildren, John Allen, Ryan Patrick, and Stacey Lynne Lucas, and Nathan Allen, Meghan Elizabeth and Andrew Thomas James. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 AM in Fairhaven Church, 637 E. Whipp Rd., Centerville with Pastor Pete Schwalm officiating. Burial in David’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends form 5-8:00 PM Thursday evening at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. In honoring the memory of John, friends may contribute gifts to Hospice of Dayton
