Donald W Detrick, a music teacher who served as orchestra director for the Kettering School system for 28 years, died Monday, Jan 16, 1995 at his home in Bradenton, FL. He was 64. Mrs. Detrick also taught music in the Beavercreek schools for 3 years and one year in Michigan. He was conductor of the All Ohio State Fair Youth Symphony and was a former officer of the Ohio Music Educators Assoc. In addition, he directed church choirs in Dayton and Kettering for 28 years and taught adult music after his retirement in Florida. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Dayton. He is survived by his wife, Maureen; two daughters, Lt Cmdr. Rebecca Powers of Monterey, CA and Nancy Galusha of Centerville; one son Robert of Kettering; a sister and 7 grandchildren. The family said a living tree memorial will be planted this spring at Kettering Fairmont High School.
