Davis, Hazel Merrilla, 75 of Kettering passed away Sunday February 28, 1993 at Kettering Medical Center. She was a member of Sugarcreek Presbyterian Church, NEA, KCTA, AATSP, and Classical League. She received her Master’s Degree from Ohio State University and did graduate studies in Spain, Mexico and Indiana Univeristy. She was a teacher of Spanish, Latin and Russian and taught at Fairmont High School from 1953 until her retirement in 1978. Prior to that, she taught at Georgetown and Bryan, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, Merrill and Hazel Harbour Davis and was a granddaughter of Dr. John Merrill Davis, past president of Rio Grande College. Survived by cousins, Jane-Elliott Davis Grant, Dorothy Clark and Betty Strauss, and many friends. Memorial services will be held at 1 PM Wed. at the Routsong Funeral Home, Kettering Chapel, 2100 E Stroop Rd. Burial at Calvary Baptist Cemetery in Rio Grande, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hipple Cancer Research Center or charity of your choice.
