Marion was one of the kindest and smartest of all my classmates. Example: Combined with our Fairfax academic classes, Marion and I were also taking classes at UCLA. One day--I think it was when we were rehearsing for the Fairfax graduation program, we had a Philosophy final exam at UCLA. We planned to go together to the university as soon as the rehearsal was complete, and I would be the driver. But I could not find her, and at some time I had to leave, lest I arrive too late. An hour after me, Marion arrived at the campus and joined the exam in progress. I think she completed her essays before I did, and I know she aced the exam. We drove back home together, I don't know the cause of the mixup, but she never criticized me for stranding her at the high school. The passing of Marion is a great loss for the world and for all who were privileged to know her.
