In 1960-61 both my sisters Donna & Barbara and I were all in the same French 1 class taught by Mrs Sensemen Our pronunciation was not too good because her best foreign language was German
However she patiently drilled us on reading writing and grammar and French culture with good humor
She also arranged locating Parisian penpals for each of us with whom we we exchanged letters
That was an excellent idea which provided a practical application for our French lessons
We all remember Mrs Sensemen and her French class fondly and we also were friends with her son Charlie who played trombone in the FHS band
