Class of 1979
Marine Corps, 4 Years
Enlisted in 1987. Boot camp San Diego, California. Field radio and high frequency school at MCAGCC Twenty Nine Palms, California. Assigned to Marine Air Control Squadron 6 at MCAS Cherry Point in Havelock, North Carolina. Morse code school at Stone Bay (Camp Lejeune) NC in 1988. Deployed to Harstad, Norway in September to participate in NATO operation TEAMWORK '88. Deployed to MCAS Yuma, Az in the spring of 1989 for WTI. Transferred to Headquarters & Headquarters Squadron at Cherry Point assigned as the NCOIC of the MARS radio station. I logged hundreds of phone patch calls between deployed sailors and Marines and their family members during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Left active duty in July of 1991.
