About | Steven Charles Hannah, 41, Liberty, passed from this world on Friday, January 26, 2007 from a malignant brain tumor, diagnosed November, 2005. He is now safe in the arms of Almighty God and his Son, Jesus Christ, our savior. Steve is finally at peace. Steve was born in Harrisonville, MO and grew up in Excelsior Springs, MO, graduating in 1983. He entered the 6 year BA/MD program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and graduated in 1989. He then completed a residency at KU in Diagnostic Radiology graduating in 1993. Following a brief year in St. Louis, he returned home to practice Radiology at Liberty Hospital, which he has done approximately the past 12 years. Although Steve was a competent and empathetic physician, his greatest joys in life were away from a hospital with his family. He met his wife Anne while she was at the University of Missouri in 1985. It was a love at first sight. They were married three years later and eventually had four wonderful, unique children: Emily, Claire, Ethan and Christian. Steve considered it his mission in life to love and provide and care for his family and they were the source of his greatest joy. Whether it was going to Panera's after church or hiking a mountain in Colorado, tubing at Table Rock Lake, or watching a good sport's game, Steve was happy as long as he was with them. Steve loved to learn. He had a variety of interests that ranged from horticulture to martial arts to personal training to interpersonal and marriage counseling. He was most recently working on an executive law degree. Books to Steve were a refuge from the world and learning was a chance to stretch the mind and to grow. In his early life, he placed a priority on education but as he aged he realized that true, lasting happiness comes from our relationships with other people and with God. He often referred to himself as a Biblical Catholic, but toward the end of his life he was led to the Liberty Christian Fellowship Church under the guidance of Kim May through another cancer patient. Steve knew that he frequently fell short of God's commandments and needed God's help if he was to enter heaven. Steve embraced the message of Jesus Christ and was confident in his salvation. He went to his death at peace and with faith in Jesus that he would be resurrected to a new life. Steve is survived by his soul mate and wife of 18 years Anne, and his four children, Emily, Claire, Ethan and Christian, his mother Patricia, his sisters Lisa and Tammy and his brother John. Steve requested that no memorial service or funeral be held. He didn't want the last thoughts of him to be in a funeral home with sadness and grief. To remember his life, he asked that family and friends go out and celebrate his life with their own families and give thanks to God for His many blessings. Steve's ashes will be scattered from a mountain in Arizona or Colorado, which were some of his favorite hiking spots. |
