Mark A. Hartman, 43, of Olathe, Kan, passed away Friday, October 3, 2008. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at Faith Baptist Church, 15285 S. 169 Hwy., Olathe. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at McGilley & Frye Funeral Home, 105 E. Loula, Olathe. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Mark Hartman Scholarship Fund that will be established at the Bank of Blue Valley to benefit his children. Mr. Hartman was born in Excelsior Springs, Mo., on Oct. 23, 1964. He was a Lieutenant for the Johnson County Sheriff's Dept., serving for over 21 years where he received a Bronze Valor Award for outstanding law enforcement. He loved to hunt, coach baseball and softball and most of all he was a true family man. Mark is survived by his wife of 21 years, Ginger; two children, Gage and Greer; parents, Roy and Wanda Hartman; brother, Randall E. and his wife Jacquetta Hartman and several nieces and nephews.
