About	EDWARD SCHALLER (EHS 1958) Obituary Edward M. Schaller POINT PLEASANT Edward M. Schaller, 75, of Point Pleasant passed away peacefully on Jan. 2, 2016, at home, surrounded by the love of his family. Born and raised in Ewing Township to the late Edward F. and Mary Delate Schaller, he graduated from Rider University and majored in criminal justice. Mr. Schaller went on to serve with the Ewing Township Police Department and devoted 33 years to serving his community, retiring as chief of police in 1999. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 83, International Association of Chiefs of Police, and the Mercer County Chiefs of Police Association. Edward was a devout Catholic and former parishioner of Incarnation Church in Ewing, where he belonged to the Knights of Columbus. He currently belonged to St. Peter's R.C. Church in Point Pleasant Beach, and often attended Mass at St. Martha's in Point Pleasant. Edward was an avid golfer who enjoyed doing yardwork and gardening, and enjoyed his time and the friends that he made at the gym. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who devoted his life to his family and enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events. Surviving are his beloved wife of 52 years, Barbara Nelson Schaller; his loving children, Kimberly Corso and husband David, Michael Schaller and wife Judy, and Melissa Miller and husband Linwood; his nine cherished grandchildren, Caitlin, Emma, Michael, Matthew, Molly, Zachary, Abigail, Sarah, and Christopher; his dear brother, Gerard Schaller, his wife, Deborah, and his beloved nephews, David and Jonathan, and many extended family and dear friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016, from 4 - 8 p.m. at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 6, at St. Peter's R.C. Church, Forman Avenue, Point Pleasant Beach.
