| About Me | Born and raised in Sunnyside, WA from a wonderful family. Both sides were musical and held family dances growing up. Wes and I had been married since 1971 and raised 3 children, Steven, Jeremy and Melissa. Melissa gave us a darling grandson, Joshua Where do I begin. I was born and raised in Sunnyside, WA., but moved to Vancouver with my family in 1966. It didn't take long for me to meet my future husband, Wes Grahnert. Wes and I are happily married since 1971 with 3 beautiful children. Steven Wesley, an "awesome" country singer (see: www.ReverbNation.com/StevenWesley or myspace.com/StevenWesleymusic) resides in Nashville, TN., Jeremy is here locally and he is a fantastic musician: guitar player and Melissa Grahnert-Fiskvik resides in Heaven since that horrid day on Feb 4th, 2005 when we lost her. She had our one and only grandson by emergency C section, at 7 months PG the same day, our darling Joshua, whom we absolutely adore, but we lost Melissa to the fight, 4 hours later when the Drs couldn't save her. I know she is at peace and I know she is ok, but we continue to suffer the loss of our beautiful and whitty "Melissa Tess", and Joshua will never know his mother. We had the best years of our life when we owned Lumberjack Pizza and we raised our kids by the standards of owning the business with great instilled values. We also had a Lumberkack Pizza Opry Live stage for all of us musicians to enjoy a fun Saturday night of singing and jamming! I sang and played many venues in the 90's and early 2000's until we lost our daughter Melissa, when my heart was forever shattered. I continue to try to mend my heart as best as I can. Now, once again, my heart is shattered at the loss of my beloved husband Wes in 2019. I continue to maintain my Grammy (NARAS) membership and Grand Ole Opry FC membership and hope to record a gospel album in the future. I have many requests for one which will include at least one song I wrote called "Flowers For A Dime", along with many traditional hymns. You can hear it raw at www.reverbnation.com/sandytess Occassionally I hear from overseas DJ's who continue to play my first CD which won me two awards, "International Gospel Artist 1997 and International Country Artist, 1998" from Nashville, TN., International Airplay. My CD went overseas in 1996-97 and had a lot of airplay and success. I also won the OCMA award for CD of the year in 1997. My professional name is: Sandy Tess I love to crochet, I also have a day job which I really like but I look forward to my free time to enjoy the pleasures of living, .......once again, update: I'm now retired. I come from a great family who loved and played music both maternal and paternal too and held great values that has always been so important to me. I am proud to be included in the 4th generation of Bronkhorst's from Bronkhorst, Holland, now the Netherlands. But my main love is music which both maternal and paternal sides of my family also had in their blood. My great grandfather, Wiley Barrett was from Sieversville, Tennessee and the hills were full of the poor folk sitting on their porches making music for entertainment. He didn't like the heat though so he packed himself up and headed north to IA and N., married then paced his family in a Conestoga wagon and headed West. My grandmother, Elsie was born in Nebraska on the covered wagon!! Cool huh? I...(read more) |
